Regular Season Round 10: Chiba Jets - Hokkaido L. 53-64

One of their biggest challengers Chiba Jets (4-6) were defeated at home by fifth ranked Hokkaido L. (4-6) with the biggest margin this round 64-53. The game was mostly controlled by Hokkaido L.. Chiba Jets was better in fourth quarter 23-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Chiba Jets to just 7 points in second quarter. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds. International guard Ryota Sakurai (194-83) contributed with 7 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Hokkaido L.'s coach Juan Manuel Hurtado allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Alan Wiggins (206-85, college: USF) replied with 15 points and 6 rebounds and guard Yuta Miyanga (183-81) added 12 points in the effort for Chiba Jets. Hokkaido L. moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated Chiba Jets. Chiba Jets lost sixth consecutive game. Hokkaido L.'s next round opponent will be league's leader Toshiba Thunders in Kanagawa and it may be the game of the week. Chiba Jets will play on the road against Hitachi Sunrockers in Tokyo and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
