Regular Season Round 8: Iskra Svit - Levice 112-84

Very expected game when 8th ranked Levice (1-6) was crushed on the road by third ranked Iskra Svit (5-2) 112-84 on Wednesday. The game without a history. Iskra Svit led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 64.1 percent from the field. Iskra Svit outrebounded Levice 36-24 including a 27-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 60.9 percentage. Iskra Svit looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Levice's players. The best player for the winners was American guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists. The other American import forward Lakeem Jackson (196-89, college: S.Carolina) chipped in 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Forward Vladimir Klar (191-86) produced 19 points and Nigerian-American point guard KC Anuna (193-89, college: Pfeiffer) added 18 points respectively for the guests. Five Iskra Svit and four Levice players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Iskra Svit maintains third position with 5-2 record behind leader Nitra. Loser Levice keeps the eighth place with six games lost. Iskra Svit will meet league's leader Nitra in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Levice will play against SKP Banska Bystrica (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
