Regular Season Round 8: Inter Bratislava - Nova Ves 94-57

Bottom-ranked Nova Ves (0-7) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to second ranked Inter Bratislava (6-2) 94-57. The game without a history. Inter Bratislava led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Nova Ves to just 7 points in second quarter. Inter Bratislava dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Nova Ves' 28. They outrebounded Nova Ves 53-29 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Inter Bratislava players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Nova Ves' players. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The winners were led by American guard Justin Graham (193-88, college: San Jose St.) who scored that evening 21 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists and Czech center Ondrej Starosta (215-79) supported him with 13 points and 11 rebounds. Four Inter Bratislava players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 24 points and 12 rebounds by American center Deshawn Painter (206-90, college: ODU) did not help to save the game for Nova Ves. Polish forward Kacper Sek (200-91) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Nova Ves' coach Milan Cernicky gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Defending champion maintains second position with 6-2 record having just -1 point less than leader Nitra. Nova Ves at the other side still closes the standings with seven games lost. Inter Bratislava will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Nova Ves will play at home against Rieker KN (#4) and hope to get finally their first victory.
