Regular Season Round 6: Solna Vikings - Mark Basket 66-75

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked Solna Vikings' (1-4) home loss to seventh ranked Mark Basket (2-2) 66-75 on Wednesday. Solna Vikings trailed by 18 points after 3 quarters before a 24-15 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 66-75 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Marissa Kastanek (175-90, college: N.Carolina St.) who scored 38 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 8 steals. Forward Elin Ljunggren (184-96) chipped in 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Brandi Brown (180-92, college: Youngstown St.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks and her fellow American import guard Amber Stokes (178-90, college: Ohio St.) added 23 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists respectively. Solna Vikings' coach Tommie Hansson rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mark Basket moved-up to fifth place. Solna Vikings lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with four games lost. Mark Basket will face higher ranked Sallen (#3) in Uppsala in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Solna Vikings will play on the road against Telge (#4) and hope to win that game.
