Regular Season Round 11: Abejas - Lechugueros 96-78

LNBP top team - Abejas (8-2) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they beat ninth ranked Lechugueros (3-7) in Guanajuato 96-78. The game without a history. Abejas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great evening for American forward Steffphon Pettigrew (195-89, college: W.Kentucky) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Roman Andrade (188, college: N.Mexico Highlands) helped adding 19 points. Five Abejas players scored in double figures. American swingman Deilvez Yearby (198-87, college: IPFW) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Andre Joseph Tyronzic (191-81, college: Oregon) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Abejas have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 8-2 record. Lechugueros at the other side dropped to the tenth position with seven games lost. Abejas are looking forward to face Panteras (#7) in Aguascalientes in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Lechugueros will play on the road against Gigantes in Toluca and are hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
