The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Logan Thunder's (2-4) home victory over 8th ranked Sydney Uni Flames (1-6) 83-74. It looked good early as Sydney Uni Flames took an 2-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Logan Thunder had a 22-18 second period charge getting the lead and Sydney Uni Flames were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 74-83. Forward Emma Langford (188-89, college: Wyoming) nailed 21 points for the winning side and guard Sarah Graham (163-89) accounted for 18 points. Four Logan Thunder players scored in double figures. The former international forward Rohanee Cox (182-80) came up with 24 points and 9 rebounds and American swingman Kathleen Scheer (187-89, college: Duke) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Sydney Uni Flames in the defeat. Sydney Uni Flames' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Logan Thunder moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Canberra C. Sydney Uni Flames lost their sixth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. Logan Thunder's next round opponent will be higher ranked Townsville Fire (#5) at home and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sydney Uni Flames will play against West Coast Waves in Perth and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
