Golden Gaels used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Thunder Bay, ON 84-64 on Friday night. The game was mostly controlled by Golden Gaels. Thunderwolves was better in third quarter 24-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Golden Gaels forced 19 Thunderwolves turnovers. Quite impressive performance for forward Nikola Misljencevic (196) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Sukhpreet Singh (188) contributed with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Five Golden Gaels players scored in double figures. Forward Igor Lebov (197-90, college: Franklin Pierce) answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds and forward Anthony McIntosh added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Thunderwolves. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Golden Gaels will face Gryphons (#4) in Guelph, ON in the next round. Thunderwolves will play on the road against Lions in Toronto, ON and hope to win that game.
