Bulleen Boomers smashed West Coast Waves 74-52 on Friday. The game without a history. Bulleen Boomers led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. American forward Chelsea Poppens (188-91, college: Iowa St.) stepped up and scored 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and guard Rebecca Allen (185-92) chipped in 19 points and 8 rebounds. New Zealand forward Antonia Edmondson (181-87) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and New Zealand forward Lisa Wallbutton (183-86) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. West Coast Waves' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Bulleen Boomers moved-up to second place, which they share with Bendigo S. West Coast Waves lost their sixth game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with six games lost. They share it with Sydney UF. Bulleen Boomers will meet at home Adelaide Lightning (#4) in the next round. West Coast Waves will play against Sydney Uni Flames (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
