The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Palma as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Palma defeated 8th ranked Castello in S'Arenal 79-71. Castello was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Power forward Antonio Pantin (206-88, agency: Interperformances) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 12 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks for the winners and American point guard John DiBartolomeo (183-91, college: Rochester, agency: Duran International) chipped in 13 points and 4 assists. DiBartolomeo is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Nigerian-American power forward Olasumbo Atoyebi (203-87, college: Elon) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and guard Manuel Rodriguez (192-91) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Castello at the other side dropped to the ninth place with two games lost. They share the position with Cambados. Castello will play next round against Prat trying to get back on the winning streak. Palma will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
