The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Okinawa GK as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Okinawa GK defeated 3rd placed Kyoto Hannar. at home 93-86. Kyoto Hannar. was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) nailed 25 points and 4 assists for the winning side and guard Ryuichi Kishimoto (176-90) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists. Four Okinawa GK players scored in double figures. Okinawa GK's coach Tsutomu Isa allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Puerto Rican-American swingman Edwin Ubiles (198-86, college: Siena) came up with 29 points and 4 assists and Yu Okada (184-83) added 23 points respectively for Kyoto Hannar. in the defeat. Okinawa GK have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Kyoto Hannar. at the other side keeps the third place with two games lost. They share the position with Shiga L-Stars. Kyoto Hannar. will have a break next week, which should allow them to rest in order to get back on the winning path.
