Regular Season Round 4: Kotwica - Slask Wroclaw 94-81

Date: November 2, 2013
Kotwica can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Slask Wroclaw (2-2) 94-81 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Kotwica. Slask Wroclaw managed to win third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Kotwica forced 19 Slask Wroclaw turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Terell Parks (204-91, college: W.Illinois) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and the other American import Karron Johnson (201-88, college: Midland CC) who added 17 points and 7 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) during the contest. At the losing side the former international swingman Pawel Kikowski (193-86) responded with 14 points and Serbian forward Nikola Malesevic (201-89, college: Rhode Island) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Four Kotwica and five Slask Wroclaw players scored in double figures. Slask Wroclaw's coach Tomasz Jankowski rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kotwica (1-3) left bottom position moving up to ninth place, which they share with Polpharma. Newly promoted Slask Wroclaw dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. They share it with Asseco. Kotwica will meet higher ranked Asseco (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Slask Wroclaw will play against the league's leader Energa Czarni having rather not much hope for a victory.
