Regular Season Round 5: Sudety - AZS Pol.Cz-wa 107-75

No shocking result in a game in Jelenia Gora where fourth ranked Sudety (4-1) smashed 8th ranked AZS Pol.Cz-wa (1-4) 107-75 on Saturday. The game without a history. Sudety led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to AZS Pol.Cz-wa's 44 and made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Sudety forced 20 AZS Pol.Cz-wa turnovers and had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by AZS Pol.Cz-wa's players. AZS Pol.Cz-wa was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was point guard Michal Kozak (179-92) who scored 30 points, 9 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 11-for-11 from the free throw line !!!). Swingman Aleksander Raczek (192-92) chipped in 16 points and 9 rebounds. Guard Slawomir Klocek (192-84) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 17 rebounds and forward Tomasz Nogalski (192-79) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. AZS Pol.Cz-wa's coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sudety. They moved-up to third place in Group B, which they share with Pogon Prudnik. AZS Pol.Cz-wa lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Sudety will face AZS AWF K-ce (#6) in Katowice in the next round. AZS Pol.Cz-wa will play at home against the league's leader GKS Tychy and hope to win that game.
