Regular Season Round 11: Toshiba BT - Hokkaido L. 89-83

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kanagawa. First ranked Toshiba Thunders faced 4th placed Hokkaido L.. Host Toshiba Thunders (9-2) defeated guests from Saporro (4-7) 89-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Hokkaido L.. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Hokkaido L. won third quarter 22-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Toshiba Thunders made 20-of-23 charity shots (87.0 percent) during the game. American forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 16 rebounds. International swingman Naoto Tsuji (185-89) contributed with 26 points for the winners. American power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) answered with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) added 14 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Hokkaido L.Five Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toshiba Thunders maintains first place with 9-2 record. Hokkaido L. at the other side keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. They share it with Chiba Jets. Toshiba Thunders will again play against Hokkaido L. (#4) in Saporro in the next round. Hokkaido L. will have a break next round.
