Regular Season Round 8: Wilki Morskie - Wisla Krakow 56-77

An interesting game for Wisla Krakow (8-0) which played road game in Szczecin against 4th ranked Wilki Morskie (4-4). Top-ranked Wisla Krakow had an easy win 77-56. The game without a history. Wisla Krakow led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Wilki Morskie to just 7 points in first quarter. Wisla Krakow forced 24 Wilki Morskie turnovers and outrebounded them 33-20 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Jantel Lavender (191-88, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 8 rebounds and Hungarian-American guard Allie Quigley (178-86, college: De Paul) who added 17 points and 4 steals during the contest. Wisla Krakow's coach Stefan Svitek felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American point guard Ketia Swanier (170-86, college: Connecticut) responded with 15 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and her fellow American import center Jasmine Erving (188-90, college: CS Northridge) scored 13 points. Wisla Krakow have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Newly promoted Wilki Morskie dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. They share the position with Basket ROW. Wisla Krakow will play against league's second-placed CCC Polkowice at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Wilki Morskie will play against Widzew in Lodz and hopes to get back on the winning track.
