Important game to mention about took place in Toluca. Tenth ranked Lechugueros (4-7) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 13th ranked Gigantes (2-9) 77-76 on Saturday evening. Gigantes trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 27-14 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-77 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was American swingman Deilvez Yearby (198-87, college: IPFW) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Luis Pulido (188-85, college: Cal Poly Pomona) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jerome Habel (208-85, college: San Diego St.) who recorded 22 points and 7 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and his fellow American import guard Dallas Logan (193-82, college: Northwood) added 19 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Five Lechugueros and four Gigantes players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Lechugueros maintains tenth position with 4-7 record. Loser Gigantes keep the thirteenth place with nine games lost. Lechugueros will face league's second-placed Halcones Rojos in Veracruz in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Gigantes will play on the road against Toros (#4) in Nuevo Laredo and hope to win that game.
