But Tenerife was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from S'Arenal 74-64 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by IF Air Europa. Tenerife was better in second period 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. IF Air Europa forced 19 Tenerife turnovers and outrebounded them 47-27 including 20 on the offensive glass. Tenerife was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American forward Ashley Bruner (183, college: S.Carolina) who had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. IF Air Europa will face Barca CBS (#9) in Barcelona in the next round. Tenerife will play on the road against Alcobendas and hope to win that game.
