Regular Season Round 4: San Salvatore - Udine 47-73

There was a minor upset when 3rd ranked San Salvatore (2-2) was crushed at home by fifth ranked Udine (2-1) 73-47 on Saturday. It was a key game for the second position in North-East. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 9-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-47. Udine forced 21 San Salvatore turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Elisa Mancabelli (172-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and forward Patrizia De Gianni (191-88) who added 17 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Udine players scored in double figures. At the losing side Bulgarian forward Roksana Yordanova (184-84) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and swingman Alessandra Visconti (187-87) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. San Salvatore's coach Fabrizio Staico gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Udine moved-up to second place in North-East, which they share with Vicenza. San Salvatore at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. Udine will face Alghero (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. San Salvatore will play against the league's leader Triestina and hope to win that game.
