Regular Season Round 2: Manitoba - Mount Royal 83-78

Bisons used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Calgary, AB 83-78 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Mount Royal won fourth quarter 27-22. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Bisons made 21-of-27 free shots (77.8 percent) during the game. Guard Amarjit Basi (180) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. Guard Justus Alleyne (188) contributed with 14 points for the winners. Five Bisons players scored in double figures. Guard Jared Cornish (190) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Deng Awak (190) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Mount Royal. Mount Royal's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bisons will have a break next round. Mount Royal will play at home against Heat (#8) and hope to win that game.
