Wesmen used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Prince George, BC 83-62 on Saturday night. The game was mostly controlled by Wesmen. Timberwolves was better in second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Wesmen dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Timberwolves' 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Timberwolves' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Wesmen made 9 blocks. American forward Steven Wesley (196, college: E.Washington) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Andrew Cunningham (186, college: Redlands CC) contributed with 8 points, 5 rebounds and 13 assists for the winners. Guard Charles Barton (193) replied with 14 points and 6 rebounds and British forward Franco Kouagnia (201) added 11 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Timberwolves. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
