Date: November 2, 2013
The game between Top Four teams took place in Hod Hasharon. 3rd ranked host Bnei Hasharon (3-3) lost to second ranked Maccabi Haifa (4-1) 85-81The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bnei Hasharon won fourth quarter 20-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Maccabi Haifa made 19-of-25 charity shots (76.0 percent) during the game. The winners were led by American-Venezuelan Donta Smith (200-83, college: SE Illinois JC) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals and the former international point guard Moran Roth (182-82, agency: Avi Zilberman) supported him with 24 points and 4 assists. Maccabi Haifa's coach Danny Franco allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 blocks by Nigerian forward Ndudi Ebi (206-84, agency: Higher Vision Sports) did not help to save the game for Bnei Hasharon. American-Panamanian Levour Warren (196-81, college: S.Carolina, agency: SportsTalent) added 21 points (made all of his eight free throws) for lost side. Four Bnei Hasharon players scored in double figures. Maccabi Haifa have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Bnei Hasharon at the other side dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. They share the position with Galil Gilboa and Hapoel J-M. Maccabi Haifa will play against Hapoel Eilat (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Bnei Hasharon will play against Maccabi Ashdod and hopes to get back on the winning track.
