Tarbes (2-4) survived in overtime against Nice (1-5) by three points 76-73. The hosts were ahead by 7 points but lost the second period ending it with a 1-point deficit before their 18-17 run, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 11-8. American swingman Alex Montgomery (185-88, college: Georgia Tech) notched a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds to lead the effort and Ukrainian-Bulgarian center Viktoria Mircheva (190-87) supported her with 14 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 21 points and 12 rebounds by forward Margaux Galliou-Loko (183-93) did not help to save the game for Nice. Spanish forward Anna Montanana (186-80, college: G.Washington) added 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Nice players scored in double figures. Tarbes moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Mondeville. Newly promoted Nice dropped to the tenth position with five games lost. Tarbes' next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Angers (#14) on the road where they are favorite. Nice will play against Mondeville (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
