An interesting game for Catz Lappeenranta (5-0) which played road game in Aanekoski against 3rd ranked Aanekosken (3-2). Top-ranked Catz Lappeenranta had an easy win 94-72. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Aanekosken. It looked good early as Aanekosken took an 6-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Catz Lappeenranta had a 28-19 second period charge getting the lead and Aanekosken was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-94. Catz Lappeenranta dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Aanekosken's 30. Catz Lappeenranta forced 21 Aanekosken turnovers. Strangely Aanekosken outrebounded Catz Lappeenranta 39-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. They shot the lights out from three nailing 13 long-distance shots on high 54.2 percentage. Catz Lappeenranta players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Aanekosken's players. American swingman Alexandria Anderson (186-86, college: Chattanooga, agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Russian forward Elena Reshetko (184-86) chipped in 21 points during the contest. Five Catz Lappeenranta players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Jordan Madden (183-90, college: Baylor, agency: LBM Management) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and her fellow American import center Kenya Robinson (182-70, college: New Orleans) scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Catz Lappeenranta have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 5-0 record. Aanekosken at the other side dropped to the fourth place with two games lost. Catz Lappeenranta will play against TuRi (#5) in Turku in the next round. Aanekosken will play on the road against Peli-Karhut in Kotka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
