Cafe Barco used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Leon 73-70 on Saturday night. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 23-17. But Aros Leon won second period 16-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American-Mexican swingman Alexis Castro (180-86, college: Vermont) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Maria Bolonio (180-85) chipped in 18 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Jennifer George (183, college: Florida) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 14 rebounds and forward Teresa Lopez Perez (180-96) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Aros Leon players scored in double figures. Cafe Barco will face Arxil Pontevedra (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Aros Leon will play against Pabellon Ourense and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
