There was no surprise when 10th ranked Nantes Reze (1-5) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Basket Landes (4-2) 70-59 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Basket Landes. Nantes Reze was better in third quarter 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Nantes Reze 45-29 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Danielle Page (188-86, college: Nebraska) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. point guard Olivia Epoupa (165-94) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international swingman Claire Stievenard (184-93) who recorded 21 points and the former international power forward Marielle Amant (190-89) added 15 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Basket Landes maintains sixth position with 4-2 record. Nantes Reze lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with five games lost. Basket Landes will face Toulouse (#10) at home in the next round. Nantes Reze will play against Lattes Montpellier and hope to win that game.
