Regular Season Round 3: Gorizont - Berezina 89-39

Gorizont (4-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed Berezina-RCOR (1-2) in Minsk 89-39. The game without a history. Gorizont led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Berezina-RCOR to just 7 points in second quarter. Gorizont dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Berezina-RCOR's 22. Gorizont forced 23 Berezina-RCOR turnovers and outrebounded them 48-23 including a 18-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Gorizont players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Berezina-RCOR's players. It was a quality performance for the former international center Maryna Ivashchanka (190-93) who led the winners and scored 15 points and 8 rebounds. International center Marina Kress (193-80) accounted for 12 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five Gorizont players scored in double figures. Gorizont's coach Anatoly Buyalskiy felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Khrystina Turomsha (168-92) came up with 11 points and 4 assists and forward Yuliya Haponava (187-94) added 6 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Berezina-RCOR in the defeat. Gorizont will play against Victoria (#7) in Grodno in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Berezina-RCOR will play on the road against BrGU COR Victoria in Brest and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
