Regular Season Round 2: Regina - Victoria 85-64

Date: November 2, 2013
Regina used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Victoria 85-64 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they stormed back and won the game by 21 points. Regina outrebounded Victoria 43-29 including a 36-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Regina especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 61.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Victoria's players. Guard Nicole Clarke (180-90) orchestrated the victory by scoring 24 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Charlotte Kot (183-95) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Four Regina players scored in double figures. Guard Cassandra Goodis (170) replied with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Sarah Semeniuk (190) added 10 points in the effort for Victoria. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Regina will face Golden Bears (#5) in Edmonton in the next round. Victoria will play at home against UFV and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
