Regular Season Round 12: Toshiba BT - Hokkaido L. 86-77

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Kanagawa. First ranked Toshiba Thunders faced 4th ranked Hokkaido L.. Host Toshiba Thunders (10-2) defeated guests from Saporro (4-8) 86-77. Hokkaido L. was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Toshiba Thunders made 17-of-22 charity shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Toshiba Thunders outrebounded Hokkaido L. 33-22 including 26 on the defensive glass. The game was dominated by American players. It was a good game for forward Nick Fazekas (211-85, college: Nevada) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Cedric Bozeman (198-83, college: UCLA) contributed with 8 points for the winners. Forward Jerome Tillman (201-87, college: Ohio, agency: KMG Sports Management) replied with 28 points and power forward Jameel Watkins (211-77, college: Georgetown) added 13 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Hokkaido L.Four Hokkaido L. players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Toshiba Thunders maintains first position with 10-2 record. Hokkaido L. at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. They share the position with Hitachi SR and Chiba Jets. Toshiba Thunders will play against league's second-placed Toyota Alvark in Tokyo in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hokkaido L. will play at home against Hitachi Sunrockers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
