Undefeated leader Akita Happinets delivered the tenth consecutive victory. This time they crushed 8th ranked Saitama Broncos (2-8) 98-78. The game without a history. Akita Happinets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Akita Happinets outrebounded Saitama Broncos 56-32 including a 22-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Swingman Richard Roby (198-85) notched 25 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and center Chas McFarland (213-86, college: Wake Forest) supported him with 14 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Akita Happinets players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 27 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws) by swingman John Humphrey (188-80, college: Middle Tenn.St.) did not help to save the game for Saitama Broncos. Swingman Michael Joiner (200-81, college: Florida St.) added 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Akita Happinets (10-0) have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with a perfect record of 10 victories in a row. Saitama Broncos lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with eight games lost. Akita Happinets' next round opponent will be Sendai 89ers (#8) at home and are hoping to win another game.
