Regular Season Round 10: Hamamatsu P. - Takamatsu FA 80-65

No shocking result in a game in Mikawa where fifth ranked Hamamatsu Phoenix (6-4) defeated 8th ranked Takamatsu FA (2-6) 80-65 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 7 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-65. Hamamatsu Phoenix made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. American players dominated also this game. Forward Deshawn Stephens (203-89, college: San Diego St.) fired 22 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. Guard Jermaine Dixon (191-87, college: Pittsburgh) chipped in 15 points and 5 assists (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Four Hamamatsu Phoenix players scored in double figures. Hamamatsu Phoenix's coach Tomoya Higashino allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Paul Williams (208-83, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: I.D.S. Law) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and forward Andrais Thornton (203-85, college: NW Missouri St.) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Hamamatsu Phoenix have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Niigata Albirex and Aomori Watts. Takamatsu FA lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with six games lost. Hamamatsu Phoenix will face Shimane Magic (#9) on the road in the next round where they are favorite.
