Cantu (3-1) survived in overtime against Lottomatica Roma (2-2) by two points 82-80 on Sunday night. The game took place in Roma. But the guests from Cantu were better at the end. The guests were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they managed to win overtime period 14-12. Cantu outrebounded Lottomatica Roma 41-29 including 28 on the defensive glass. American guard Michael Jenkins (191-86, college: Winthrop) fired 22 points and 5 assists for the winners. point guard Stefano Gentile (191-89) chipped in 14 points and 5 assists. American point guard Jordan Taylor (185-89, college: Wisconsin) produced 19 points and 7 assists and his fellow American import forward Trevor Mbakwe (207-89, college: Minnesota) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Lottomatica Roma players scored in double figures. Lottomatica Roma's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Cantu keeps a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams. Lottomatica Roma at the other side dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. Cantu will face Air Avellino (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lottomatica Roma will play against Juvecaserta in Caserta and hope to win that game.
