There was no surprise when 12th ranked VL Pesaro (1-3) was crushed at home by sixth ranked Montepaschi Siena (3-1) 94-69 on Monday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 21-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 94-69. Montepaschi Siena dominated on the defensive end, holding VL Pesaro to just 7 points in second quarter. The former international guard Daniel Hackett (199-87, college: USC, agency: Two Points) fired 20 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals for the winners. American swingman Kim English (198-88, college: Missouri) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Montepaschi Siena's coach Marco Crespi felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American power forward O.D.
