No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Bnei Hasharon (3-2) beat on the road 10th ranked Maccabi Ashdod (1-3) 95-86. The guests were already 11 points ahead at halftime and as many as 17 after three quarters before a 28-20 last quarter charge of Maccabi Ashdod cut the lead to 95-86 at the end of the game. They outrebounded Maccabi Ashdod 39-22 including 16 on the offensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Bnei Hasharon especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 66.7 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was Nigerian forward Ndudi Ebi (206-84, agency: Higher Vision Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks. point guard Avi Ben-Chimol (194-85, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) chipped in 16 points and 9 assists. point guard Lior Lifshitz (177-84) produced 17 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) added 19 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Bnei Hasharon moved-up to third place, which they share with Hapoel J-M and Hapoel Eilat. Maccabi Ashdod lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with three games lost. Bnei Hasharon's next round opponent will be Maccabi T-A (#9) in Tel-Aviv which should be theoretically an easy game. Maccabi Ashdod will play on the road against Hapoel Eilat and hope to win that game.
