There was a small surprise when fourth ranked Atl.Echague (2-2) defeated second-ranked Union SF (2-2) in Parana 93-83 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Atl.Echague. Union SF was better in second period 28-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Point guard Victor Hugo Cajal (179-80) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 6 assists. Naturalized Italian center Omar Canton (210-82) contributed with 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Atl.Echague players scored in double figures. Atl.Echague's coach Sebastian Uranga used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Roman Rodriguez (195-85) answered with 42 points (!!!) and center Alejandro Reinick (203-78) added 12 points and 13 rebounds in the effort for Union SF. Atl.Echague moved-up to second place, which they share with 9 other teams including defeated Union SF. Atl.Echague will face Rocamora (#5) on the road in the next round.
