Regular Season Round 8: Haukar - Keflavik 92-61

Undefeated Keflavik (7-1) recorded its first loss in Hafnarfjordur on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by fourth ranked Haukar (4-4) 92-61. It ended at the same time the seven-game winning streak of Keflavik. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 92-61. Haukar dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Keflavik's 36. They outrebounded Keflavik 51-26 including a 21-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Haukar looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Keflavik's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Haukar made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was American forward Lele Hardy (182-88, college: Clemson) who had a double-double by scoring 25 points, 21 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Haukar maintains fourth position with 4-4 record, which they share with Hamar. Defending champion Keflavik still keeps top place with one game lost.
