Regular Season Round 5: KFI - KR 77-91

Bottom-ranked KFI is still unable to win any game. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to leader KR (4-0) 91-77. The game without a history. KR led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot 60.4 percent from the field. KR outrebounded KFI 39-27 including a 31-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. 24 personal fouls committed by KFI helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was the former international Helgi Magnusson (197-82, college: Catawba) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Pavel Ermolinskij (202-87) chipped in 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five KR players scored in double figures. The former international forward Mirko Virijevic (201-81, college: Freed-Hardeman) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and forward Agust Angantysson (198-85) added 17 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for KR. They maintain second place with 4-0 record behind leader Keflavik. KFI lost their fourth game in a row. They still closes the standings with four games lost. KR's next round opponent will be Njardvik (#3) in Njardvik, which may be the game of the day. KFI will play on the road against Haukar (#6) in Hafnarfjordur and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
