Regular Season Round 5: Maccabi Hasharon - Kiryat Tivon 74-86

Bottom-ranked Hod Hasharon is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fifth consecutive match to fourth ranked Kiryat Tivon (3-2) 86-74. It looked good early as Hod Hasharon took an 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kiryat Tivon took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 12 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Hod Hasharon's 42. Kiryat Tivon forced 19 Hod Hasharon turnovers and had a 21-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Charles Hinkle (195-88, college: American) who scored 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward Fred Hunter (196-89, college: Nicholls St., agency: SDJ Sports) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Kiryat Tivon players scored in double figures. International Raviv Pitshon (201-89) produced 21 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) and American forward Nate Carter (200-83, college: Oklahoma) added 16 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Kiryat Tivon maintains fourth place with 3-2 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Hod Hasharon lost their fifth game in a row. They still closes the standings with five games lost. Kiryat Tivon's next round opponent will be Beer Yaakov (#6) at home. Hod Hasharon will play against Elitzur Yavne (#10) and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
