Regular Season Round 11: Boulazac - St Vallier 85-81

An interesting game took place in Boulazac where higher ranked Saint Vallier (5-6) was upset on the court of sixteenth ranked Boulazac Basket (4-7) 85-81 on Friday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Saint Vallier. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Saint Vallier won third quarter 28-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for power forward David Monds (205-83, college: Oklahoma St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. Swingman Jason Siggers (194-85, college: Albany) helped adding 16 points and 6 rebounds. Boulazac Basket's coach Sylvain Lautie allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Power forward Julian Gamble (207-89, college: Miami, FL) responded with 17 points and swingman Jared Newson (195-84, college: Tenn-Martin, agency: Pro One Sports) scored 13 points and 6 rebounds. Four Boulazac Basket and five Saint Vallier players scored in double figures. Boulazac Basket moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Poitiers. Loser Saint Vallier dropped to the tenth position with six games lost. Boulazac Basket will face higher ranked Chalons-Reims (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
