Regular Season Round 7: Tln Kalev - Valga 50-54

Very important is a home loss of third ranked Tln Kalev (4-3) against eighth ranked Valga (2-5) on Friday night. Host Tln Kalev was defeated by Valga in a tough game in Tallinn 50-54. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Tln Kalev. It looked good early as Tln Kalev took an 4-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Valga had a 16-4 second period charge getting the lead and Tln Kalev was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 50-54. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Tln Kalev to just 4 points in second quarter. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian point guard Edi Sinadinovic (193-88) who led the winners and scored 11 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Serbian guard Sasa Avalic (198-80) accounted for 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. American power forward Michael Hart (206-85, college: N.Illinois) came up with 10 points and 9 rebounds and the former international point guard Reimo Tamm (188-84) added 10 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Tln Kalev in the defeat. Four Tln Kalev players scored in double figures. Tln Kalev's coach Kalle Klandorf rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Valga maintains eighth place with 2-5 record. Tln Kalev at the other side dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Valga will play against league's second-placed TU/Rock in Tartu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tln Kalev will play at home against the league's leader BC Rakvere having rather not much hope for a victory.
