Very expected game in Coruna where 10th ranked Lleida Basquet (2-4) was defeated by sixth ranked Leyma Basquet (4-2) 82-71. The game was mostly controlled by Leyma Basquet. Lleida Basquet was better in second period 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Lleida Basquet 35-24 including a 28-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Guard Jesus Castro (191-83) notched 13 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists to lead the effort and Nigerian-Dominican point guard Sean Ogirri (188-86, college: Wyoming) supported him with 22 points. Five Leyma Basquet players scored in double figures. Even 14 points by guard Alex Llorca (192-89) did not help to save the game for Lleida Basquet. Center Victor Arteaga (212-92) added 12 points and 6 rebounds. Lleida Basquet's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Leyma Basquet moved-up to third place, which they share with 4 other teams. Lleida Basquet at the other side dropped to the ninth position with four games lost. Leyma Basquet's next round opponent will be Clinicas Rincon (#8) in Malaga where they are favorite. Lleida Basquet will play at home against the league's second-placed River Andorra and hope to win that game.
