Regular Season Round 7: Arras - Charleville 45-44

Important game to mention about took place in Arras. Seventh ranked Arras (4-3) saved a 1-point victory at home edging 4th placed Charleville-Mezieres (5-2) 45-44 on Friday evening. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 16-9. But Charleville-Mezieres won second period 9-8. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Charleville-Mezieres 47-30 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Mali center Naignouma Coulibaly (191-89) who led her team to a victory scoring 4 points and 23 rebounds. Forward Floriane Herrscher (187-84) helped adding 4 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side guard Amel Bouderra (160-89) responded with 10 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Ambrosia Anderson (186-84, college: BYU, agency: Two Points) scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Arras. They maintain seventh place with 4-3 record. Charleville-Mezieres at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. They share it with Landes. Arras will play against higher ranked Villeneuve D'Ascq (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Charleville-Mezieres will play against the league's leader Bourges having rather not much hope for a victory.
