Regular Season Round 11: Bourg - Poitiers 90-85 OT

Poitiers (#14) forced the game against JL Bourg (#11) into an overtime, but lost by five points 85-90 on Friday night. The hosts were tied at the half and again at the end of regular time. But they managed to win overtime period 13-8. JL Bourg made 27-of-33 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard O'Darien Bassett (189-86, college: Troy) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import forward John Flowers (200-89, college: W.Virginia, agency: KMG Sports Management) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). JL Bourg's coach Frederic Sarre used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The former international Karim Souchu (198-79, college: Furman) produced 19 points and 9 rebounds and Senegalese forward Elson Mendy (200-85) added 17 points respectively for the guests. JL Bourg (6-5) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Poitiers lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the fourteenth position with seven games lost. They share it with Boulazac. JL Bourg will meet Lille Metropole (#17) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Poitiers will play against Nantes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
