Regular Season Round 1: Hitachi Cougars - JX Sunflowers 60-82

Very predictable result when JX Sunflowers (2-0) rolled over Hitachi Cougars (0-2) in Hitachinaka 82-60 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-60. JX Sunflowers dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Hitachi Cougars' 36. International forward Yuki Miyazawa (181-93, college: Queens, NY) nailed a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for the winning side and the former international forward Yuka Mamiya (185-90) accounted for 16 points and 15 rebounds. Four JX Sunflowers players scored in double figures. Forward Hikaru Ogasawara (174-88) came up with 19 points and 9 rebounds and guard Kasumi Takahashi (167-87) added 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Hitachi Cougars in the defeat. Hitachi Cougars' coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
