Regular Season Round 7: Stal Ostrow - Astoria Bydg. 93-89

Very expected game when 10th ranked Astoria Bydg. (2-5) lost to sixth ranked Stal Ostrow (4-3) in Ostrow Wlkp. 89-93 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. It was a great shooting night for Stal Ostrow especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Quite impressive performance for power forward Tomasz Andrzejewski (204-79) who helped to win the game recording 19 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. point guard Tomasz Ochonko (184-86, agency: Promotex) contributed with 23 points for the winners. Four Stal Ostrow players scored in double figures. Stal Ostrow's coach Krzysztof Szablowski used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Mateusz Bierwagen (196-88, agency: Promotex) answered with 34 points (!!!) (made all of his seven free throws) and Dorian Szyttenholm (193-83, agency: Promotex) added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Astoria Bydg.Stal Ostrow moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Astoria Bydg. lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with five games lost. Stal Ostrow will face higher ranked Kutno (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Astoria Bydg. will play against Znicz Basket (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
