Regular Season Round 6: Nowa Sol - Trefl II Sopot 73-69

Undefeated leader Nowa Sol delivered the sixth consecutive victory on Saturday night. This time they beat 10th ranked Trefl II Sopot (2-3) 73-69 in Zielona Gora. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 39-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Nowa Sol forced 19 Trefl II Sopot turnovers. The best player for the winners was Marcin Chodkiewicz (200-82, agency: Promotex) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Nikodem Sirijatowicz (187-94) chipped in 16 points. Four Nowa Sol players scored in double figures. Nowa Sol's coach Boguslaw Onufrowicz used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Grzegorz Kulka (203-96) who recorded 19 points and 8 rebounds and Lukasz Jaskiewicz (202-92) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively. Nowa Sol (6-0) have an impressive six-game winning streak. Newly promoted Nowa Sol maintains first position in Group A with a perfect record of 6 victories in a row. Trefl II Sopot lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with three games lost. Nowa Sol will face Polonia W-wa (#7) in Warszawa in the next round where they are favorite. Trefl II Sopot will play at home against Kalisz and hope to win that game.
