Regular Season Round 13: Aishin SH - Wakayama T. 86-67

An interesting game for Aishin Sea Horses (13-0) which hosted in Kariya their biggest opponent Wakayama T. (8-3). Leader Aishin Sea Horses had an easy win 86-67. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Wakayama T.. The game was mostly controlled by Aishin Sea Horses. Wakayama T. managed to win second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Aishin Sea Horses dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Wakayama T.'s 44. The former international center J.R. Sakuragi (206-76, college: UCLA) nailed 17 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and American power forward Gavin Edwards (206-88, college: Connecticut) accounted for 10 points and 9 rebounds. Five Aishin Sea Horses players scored in double figures. Aishin Sea Horses' coach Kimikazu Suzuki allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Michael Parker (202-81, college: Evergreen St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds and the former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists respectively for Wakayama T. in the defeat. Aishin Sea Horses have an impressive series of thirteen victories in a row. They maintain first place with 13-0 record. Newly promoted Wakayama T. keeps the second position with three games lost. Aishin Sea Horses will again meet at home league's second-placed Wakayama T. in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Wakayama T. will have a break next round.
