Regular Season Round 6: AZS UMK Torun - Notec 77-59

The most important game in the last round took place in Torun between third ranked Notec (4-2) and eighth ranked AZS UMK Torun (3-3) on Saturday night. Notec was defeated by AZS UMK Torun on the road 77-59. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Notec. The hosts trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 46-24 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. AZS UMK Torun forced 23 Notec turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Notec helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Tomasz Lipinski (201-78) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Zbigniew Malinowski (188-84) chipped in 16 points and 4 steals. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. AZS UMK Torun moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with 3 other teams. Notec at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. They share it with Kalisz. AZS UMK Torun is looking forward to face Basket Pila (#10) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Notec will play against Korsarz Gdansk (#12) and is hoping to win this game.
