Regular Season Round 11: Iwate Big Bulls - Osaka Evessa 86-71

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Osaka Evessa (6-3) against sixth ranked Iwate Big Bulls (5-4) on Saturday night. Visiting Osaka Evessa was defeated by Iwate Big Bulls in Iwate 86-71. The game was mostly controlled by Iwate Big Bulls. Osaka Evessa was better in fourth quarter 20-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Osaka Evessa 46-31 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points. American-Panamanian forward Leonardo Pomare (203-86, college: San Diego) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Four Iwate Big Bulls players scored in double figures. Iwate Big Bulls' coach Dai Oketani allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Kevin Galloway (200-88, college: Texas Southern) answered with 19 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and the other American import guard Marcus Capers (193-89, college: Washington St.) added 13 points in the effort for Osaka Evessa. Iwate Big Bulls moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Osaka Evessa lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with three games lost. They share it with Shiga L-Stars. Iwate Big Bulls will again play against higher ranked Osaka Evessa (#4) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Osaka Evessa will have a break next round.
