DNA Silver top team - Omegna (5-2) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they beat fourteenth ranked Firenze (2-5) 98-81. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Omegna's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-13 extending their advantage to 17 points. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Firenze's 36. It was a great evening for American point guard Mike James (185-90, college: Lamar) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals. Center Jacopo Borra (214-90) helped adding 21 points and 6 rebounds. Four Omegna players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Kittitian swingman Kyle Swanston (201-86, college: JMU, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) responded with 31 points and American guard Brandon Wood (187-89, college: Michigan St.) scored 23 points. Omegna maintains first place with 5-2 record, which they share with Ferrara and Ravenna. Newly promoted Firenze dropped to the fifteenth position with five games lost. Omegna is looking forward to face Recanati (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Firenze will play against Ravenna and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
