Regular Season Round 5: Triestina - San Salvatore 82-58
Date: November 9, 2013
Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked San Salvatore (2-3) was outplayed on the road by leader Triestina (4-0) 82-58 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Triestina. San Salvatore was better in third quarter 17-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Triestina dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to San Salvatore's 34. They outrebounded San Salvatore 41-30 including 31 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Hungarian forward Anna Vida (185-85, agency: Interperformances) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Francesca Rosellini (175-90) chipped in 18 points. Four Triestina players scored in double figures. Swingman Alessandra Visconti (187-87) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Anna Lussu (163-85) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Triestina have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Triestina maintains first place in North-East with 4-0 record. Loser San Salvatore keeps the fifth position with three games lost. Triestina will face Udine (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
