Regular Season Round 8: Pontoise - Monaco 75-94

Very expected game when 16th ranked Pontoise (1-7) was smashed by eighth ranked Monaco (5-2) in Cergy 94-75 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Monaco. Pontoise was better in second period 20-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Monaco shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. American-Nigerian forward Derrick Obasohan (200-81, college: Texas Arlington, agency: Beo Basket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points. Guard Anthony Christophe (190-83) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Monaco players scored in double figures. Swedish center Emir Coco (207-83) replied with 19 points and guard Glenn Duro (193-88) added 13 points in the effort for Pontoise. Pontoise's coach Ludovic Pouillart rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Monaco have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Newly promoted Pontoise keeps the sixteenth position with seven games lost. Monaco will face Cognac BB (#14) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Pontoise will play against JSA Bordeaux and hope to win that game.
